Books I Read

Here I share books I have read, together with short notes (Click on a book for details) and recommendations to help readers.

Computer Science
Book 1
A strong starting point for learning machine learning. It can help you refresh the math needed to understand the core concepts, or deepen those skills if you already have a good foundation. The book is available on this website for free.
Book 2
I learned machine learning from this book outside of class, and it helped a lot with understanding the subject. During uni, it sometimes felt heavy, but it helped me understand the concepts in depth. It is still one of my top books.
Book 3
I read this book before Murphy, and I would say it is a great choice if you want something a little less heavy but still want to understand the core concepts in depth. I am glad I read it before Murphy, because it may have helped me get through Murphy more easily.
Book 4
It is still a fairly new book for me, and I have not finished it yet, but I think the explanations are very good and supported by lots of visualizations. It also feels balanced with Murphy and the previous book. For new starters, this book would be a good choice. The online version and the answers to the questions should be available on their website.
Book 5
I am still in the first part of the book, and it has been amazing to learn and understand how neurons work and how we model them with different techniques. It is also very helpful for my research topic, spiking neural networks.
